FAIRS, FESTIVALS AND MARKETS

Lloseta has two local festivals. The festival of la Mare de Déu de Lloseta, the patron saint of the municipality, is held on 8 September. The main event of the festival is a religious celebration that takes place in the morning in the parish church with the attendance of the authorities. In the past years, the festival has expanded and a number of activities, both cultural and sports related, are organized during the previous week.

The second festival is the pilgrimage of el Cocó, which takes place on the first Wednesday after Easter. It is the current version of the old pilgrimage in which the people of Lloseta worshipped the virgin in the chapel of the old estate of Son Ramon. On this day the political and religious authorities open the festival with a parade from the parish church to the chapel, where a mass is officiated. During the day and despite having lost the charm of tradition in the transition to modernity, the pilgrimage starts at avinguda del Cocó with the participation of visitors from neighbouring municipalities. In addition, Lloseta holds a weekly market on Saturdays in plaça d´Espanya. The market has a varied offer with outstanding food products.
